Marital-status certificate translation
Sworn translation of zaświadczenie o stanie cywilnym (proof of not being married / current marital status) for marriage at a Polish USC and selected immigration filings.
Zaświadczenie o stanie cywilnym shows a person’s current status (single / married / divorced, etc.) on the issue date. It is not a marriage certificate and not a divorce act. For marriage registration in Poland USC often asks specifically for a fresh certificate with a sworn translation.

Why is a marriage or divorce certificate not enough?
This certificate answers “what is the status now”.A marriage certificate proves a past event. This certificate confirms that today you may marry (or what your status is). USC looks at currentness.
“Freshness” window

What the translation must include

Before a wedding in Poland an apostille on this certificate is requested very often. Without it USC may refuse the pack even with a perfect translation.
