National ID / internal passport translation
Sworn translation of a dowód osobisty or internal passport — when the document list asks for a national ID, not a travel passport.
An internal passport or ID card has different details from a travel passport (including address and the issuing country’s personal number). If the office wrote “dowód” — we translate that, not the travel passport.
Dowód translation: national ID, not a travel passport
When do they ask specifically for a dowód?
When they need the internal-ID fields.Sometimes a residence-card pack or a bank list includes a national ID. Substituting a travel passport without the office’s consent risks refusal.
Booklet vs plastic card
We translate both formats.Ukrainian internal passport booklet: data spreads with a current photo. ID card — both sides, including numbers and expiry.
Registered address in the document
We carry it over if it is on the form. This does not replace a separate address-registration certificate. If UW asks for zaświadczenie o zameldowaniu — see that service page.
Name transliteration
We align it with the travel passport if available. An internal document may show the name in Cyrillic only. We take Latin spelling from the travel passport so it matches the residence card.
Invalid / exchange document
Translation is possible; filing often needs a valid one.Confirm the office requirement. To explain a name history, an older ID is sometimes accepted.
Apostille
Rarely on the dowód itself.Legalisation is more often requested for civil-status acts and certificates, not for a national ID.
Languages we translate national ID / internal passports into
We work both ways: a foreign document into Polish for offices in Poland, a Polish document into the destination-country language.
Documents from Ukraine for offices in Poland — the most common pair.
Soviet-era documents and those issued in Russia and Belarus.
Documents from the UK, Ireland, the USA, India and the UAE.
Polish documents for Ukrainian offices — certificates, extracts, rulings.
For foreign employers, universities and consulates.
For offices and banks in countries that require Russian.
Three types of translation — and when you need each
If the document goes to a public office — you need a sworn translation. Prices below are for Ukrainian, Russian and English; other languages are quoted separately.
When a dowód translation is needed
The intent is a national identity document, not a travel document.
Identification against a national ID.
Bank, urzędyWhen the HR list specifically asks for a dowód osobisty.
PracodawcaOnly if the office named the internal document.
Urząd WojewódzkiIdentity check in powers of attorney and contracts.
NotariuszApostille on a national ID / internal passport
An apostille is extremely rarely placed on a national ID. If the list mentions an apostille — check whether it applies to another document in the pack.
Who already ordered
All reviewsI sent a photo in the evening, had a PDF by morning, and the paper copy in Wrocław two days later. Urząd Wojewódzki accepted it without questions.
They asked to match the name spelling to the passport — I would not have thought of it. That is why the pack was accepted first time.
The amount quoted on Telegram did not change. Good when there are no “extra pages” at the end.
FAQ
These are the questions we hear most about this document.
Ask the office. In Polish, “paszport” usually means travel passport, “dowód” means national ID. Send a screenshot of the list — we will advise.
